GSACEP Presidential Address

Dr. Justine Stremick, MD, MPH&TM, FACEP

Thank you to each of our members for your continued service and professionalism during what remain uncertain and often challenging times. Across federal, VA, and military emergency medicine, you continue to show up for patients, colleagues, and communities—often under extraordinary pressure. Your commitment to service is the foundation of this chapter, and it does not go unnoticed.

Leadership, especially in moments like these, is not just about titles or positions. It is reflected in the people we choose to surround ourselves with, those we allow to challenge us, and those we grow alongside. I am continually inspired by the servant leaders within GSACEP—individuals who seek nothing more than what is best for this organization and for its members. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve.”  During this time, we are reminded of both the power of moral leadership and the responsibility we carry to speak up, to protect one another, and to act with courage and humanity.

We want to hear from you. Please continue to share how GSACEP can best support you and your work. Funding remains available for member-led projects (reach out to admin@gsacep.org), and we encourage you to submit advocacy ideas and resolution proposals through our advocacy submission form. You can also submit other concerns via our Members' Voice anonymous form. Your voices shape our priorities and strengthen our collective impact.

Looking ahead, we are excited for several opportunities to connect and engage:

Whatever the challenges ahead, we face them together. Thank you for your leadership, your service, and your continued commitment to one another and to GSACEP.

-Justine
